Sea Titan (WIP) by TGHarrison Sea Titan (WIP) by TGHarrison
I have decided to do a series of images depicting massive creatures in different environments.

This one is causing me a few issues however and I would appreciate any feedback as to how I could improve it. Scale has never been a strong suit of mine but I'm striving to improve simply due to how much I love to imagine and draw massive creatures.

I really dig the concept, can't wait to see the finished product.. I love the huge monster style, it's something I'd like to work on myself.

As far as the piece, I think I agree with most of the people here mentioning that a sense of depth and scale could be nice.. but I love what you did with the rainbows in the mist.. that gives an idea of just how big this gargantuan beast is.

Keep it up, I'll be keeping an eye on ya.

Thanks for the feedback. I can't imagine it will change massively from how it currently looks besides maybe something in the foreground to help gauge the scale.
I feel I've reached somewhat of a Plato with this piece and will find it hard to improve on it. I shall make some changes, that people have bought to my attention, but then I will probably move on with the next Titan image. I'm hoping that I will be able to look back after having done a number of these and see technical progression.

Good work there. I think the composition could do with a little work though. It would really benefit from a foreground and a background to give a sense of depth and scale.

If you haven't already, I'd give these guys a look, they do some amazing tutorials on concept art and digital painting, especially because you obviously have the skills, you just need to work on the technical side ---> [link]

This one might be especially useful for you if you are working on giant monsters ---> [link]

Keep at it and keep up the good work.

Thank you very much, I shall give those links a look.

When you say; "Background" what did you have in mind? My vision for this was that the creature made up the majority of the horizon and, in a sense, is the background however i am very much open to suggestion. Having worked on it for a while I find it hard to actually see what actually needs to be added as to make it most effective.

I really like this, but I think some sort of ship would look okay in the ocean. So I agree with the other guy, but good job!

It feels massive, but it needs something to compare with.

I had a little guy in a row boat before but it just looked weird. Im tempted to put a stretch of land on the far right but make it appear that it is in front of the titan. I do not wish to overload the image :/
